Woman-owned, Montrose-grown, still on Main Street
Sonja Horn, a retired surgical nurse, opened Fabula in downtown Montrose in 2012 — back when the town had no dedicated gift or kitchen shop — and built it into a Main Street mainstay one gift, gadget and jewelry box at a time. In 2025, a call from a Ridgway property owner led her to open a second storefront, and Fabula now also has a presence in Grand Junction.
Fabula is Latin for "a story" — a fitting name for a shop where the small, local, hands-on team will help you track down the right cheese knife, the right moon-phase necklace, or the right stuffed animal for a kid who's hard to shop for.
